Welcome:

In the therapeutic process, I invite you to engage in a collaborative relationship focused on fostering self-understanding and personal growth. This pursuit involves recognizing and addressing patterns in thinking, behaving, and feeling that may limit desired change. Through gradual trust-building, our exploration flowers into a revitalized range of emotional experiences, fostering more meaningful connections with oneself and others.

My approach draws from relational theory, internal family systems, attachment theory, animism, and humanistic orientations, emphasizing a holistic and somatically informed perspective. I am also trained in EMDR. I maintain an awareness of systemic inequities and their impact on individuals and communities. While I am direct, I try to avoid being directive, blending exploration (and humor) with practical strategies developed with you to enhance the therapeutic process.

Specialization:

I specialize in guiding individuals through major life transitions, with a focus on first-time caregivers and those seeking to reshape their life paths. I also support adults and late adolescents facing challenges related to transracial adoptions, individuals from BIPOC communities, adults integrating an ADHD diagnosis into their self-concept, and those engaged in creative fields and practices. My clinical background in complex PTSD and PTSD informs my understanding of how traumatic experiences can impact the areas mentioned above.

I also currently have two virtual pro-bono spaces (8-12 sessions) for those who have lost their homes, livelihoods, and communities in the Eaton wildfire. In addition to this, here is an extensive list of providers offering pro bono services to those directly impacted by the LA wildfires.

About me:

Beyond my psychotherapy practice, I maintain an active artistic life as a cellist and composer, holding a Professional Studies Diploma from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. My artistic endeavors enrich my understanding of the human experience, and I view them as a complementary aspect of my clinical work. Click here to learn more about this facet of my career.

As part of my professional license, I complete 36 hours of professional development every two years. This ongoing education ensures that my skills and knowledge remain current and aligned with the latest research and learning communities.

Please reach out for a free consultation to discuss your needs, share your reasons for seeking therapy, and determine if we are a good fit. I look forward to the opportunity to connect with you. You are welcome to set up a consult online, here.
